THE OLYMPIAN
KEW
Context:
Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs have seen a surge of demand for premium residential and commercial spaces. This project utilises a significant block of land in Kew to create a distinct architectural landmark that contrasts with the existing local character.
Concept:
This ‘Type-B’ multi-functional development integrates two ground-floor retail tenancies, professional suites for a law firm and an architecture studio, and two luxury 4-bedroom apartments with basement carparking. The design incorporates Greek-inspired elements to reflect the heritage of the retail occupants

THE IDEA
Inspired by the Kew war memorial, this landmark provides a historical acknowledge towards Greek heritage and diversity within Kew. Shown through celebration of exterior Ionic columns, the Greek Meander and the light pale colour palette.
